Chongololo Club

Chongololo and Conservation Clubs of Zambia (CCCZ)

The Chongololo and Conservation Clubs of Zambia (CCCZ) have been in existence since 1972. The CCCZ is the Society’s core Environmental Education Programme. The purpose of the CCCZ is to promote awareness on environmental issues among school going children and any community grouping.

All Chongololo and Conservation Clubs receive either Chongololo or Chipembele magazines six times in a year. These magazines cover a vast variety of topics concerning wildlife and environment. The magazines are supported by Club Leader guides, that gives the Club Leaders an extensive knowledge on the topics covered in each magazine. The magazines are meant as education material for the club members to gain more knowledge and get a greater interest on wildlife and environmental issues and hence equip the club members with practical, positive attitudes towards conservation and the wise use of natural resources.

Chongololo and Conservation Clubs can be formed in schools, churches or any other community. The Chongololo Clubs cater for children from grade 1-7 (12 years and below) and the Conservation Clubs cater for children from grade 8-12 (13 years and above). The recommended maximum number of members per club is 30 and if the number exceeds 30 it is recommended that the group is split for maximum participation of each member.

Anyone who wishes to become a Club Leader and form a Chongololo or Conservation Club should fill in the membership form and submit it to the National Office with the appropriate subscription fee.

The Terms and Conditions for the Chongololo and Conservation Clubs can be found by clicking here.

Membership forms can be obtained from your nearest Branch, the National Office or downloaded by clicking here.
